Uma Damodar Sridhar has been associated with Hyderabad Literary Festival since 2012. She is currently Head, Department of French and Francophone Studies at the EFL University, Hyderabad, and teaches French language, linguistics, teaching methodology, and translation. She previously worked at the Alliance Française of Hyderabad as a teacher and translator from 1988 to 2000, and as Deputy-Director from 2005 to 2009. Her translations include two volumes of poetry Butterfly Caresses (2015) and Flying Embers (2025), and a travel narrative by Pierre Sonnerat, the 18th-century French naturalist and explorer (forthcoming).
