Tanuja Chandra directed television shows, Mirch Masala and Zameen Aasmaan, co-wrote the screenplay and dialogue for Mahesh Bhatt’s films, Zakhm and Tamanna, both National award-winners, and co-wrote Yash Chopra’s Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Beginning independent film direction in 1998, she directed Dushman, Sangharsh, Sur, Hope and A Little Sugar, Qarib Qarib Singlle, two short films: Silvat and A Monsoon Date, and the feature documentary Aunty Sudha Aunty Radha. Her documentary series on matrimonial fraud Wedding.con was nominated for many awards including the Asia Content Awards at The Busan International Film Festival, and won several awards in 2024. She also published a collection of short stories Bijnis Woman (2017).
