Shashi Kumar is Co-Founder & CEO of Akshayakalpa Organic. He did his bachelor’s in computer science, worked at Wipro Technologies, and completed his master’s in telecommunication engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. After 17 years in the technology industry, he returned home to rethink and recreate the country’s farm sector to improve the economic conditions of small and marginal farmers. With the veterinarian and entrepreneur Dr GNS Reddy and the support of colleagues, he started Akshayakalpa in 2010, which has grown to become India’s largest certified organic milk company. A majority of the 850 farmers who are part of the Akshayakalpa movement have improved their earnings by 3-4 times.
