Endapalli Bharathi grew up in the fields with some spotty and irregular schooling, and today, apart from working on her farm and homestead, she writes fiction and works as a journalist for Navodayam, a magazine dedicated to women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs). She writes in the Madanapalle Telugu dialect, depicting the struggles of Dalit women, their unique culture, social concerns, and the true landscape of rural life. Apart from short-story collections, she has also published a novel, Jakkiku (2023). She has won numerous awards for her work, including the Gidugu Rammurthy Puraskaram and the Bahujana Samajika Rachayitha Puraskaram.
