Rekha Bhatnagar is a post-graduate in Painting from Udaipur University and a former Head of the Department of Art, Kanoria College, Jaipur, Rajasthan. She is also a contemporary artist, and in a career spanning over 50 years, she has participated in many group exhibitions, workshops, and held three solo shows, including one in Guelph, Canada. Her doctoral thesis was on the folk art of the Udaipur region. She has written several articles for art and culture journals and authored two books: Dhulichitra: Folk Floor Designs of India (2019) and Gobar Dhan: Artistic Visual Expressions in Cow Dung (2025).
