Aparna Rayaprol

Aparna Rayaprol is at the Department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad, and served as the Head of the Department. A leading scholar in gender studies, urban sociology, and migration and diaspora, she has published Negotiating Identities: Women in the Indian Diaspora (1997), along with numerous other impactful publications. She holds a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and pursued postdoctoral research at Princeton University’s Center for the Study of American Religion. Since the inception of the Study in India Program (SIP) in 1998, she has been at the heart of shaping global classrooms and intercultural learning at the University of Hyderabad.
