Anju Khemani founded the Drama Association of the Deaf (DAD) in 2013. It is a collective that aims to build a new form of theatrical expression by introducing Deaf culture to the creative world of drama. She has worked towards educating, supporting, and leading people and organizations to build a creative and communicative world of change in different areas– education, women empowerment, disability, and theatre–in corporate, media, and NGO Sector. DAD was an outcome of her theatre course at the National School of Drama and extensive work with the Deaf community.
