Afsar Mohammad writes poetry and short fiction in Telugu and English. Evening With a Sufi (2022) is a translation of his poetry, and Sahil Will Come and Other Stories (2025), a collection of his short stories in translation. His other publications include The Festival of Pirs: Popular Islam and Shared Devotion in South India (2013) and Remaking History: 1948 Police Action and the Muslims of Hyderabad (2023).
