Dhanya Rajendran is the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of The News Minute, and the founding chairperson of DIGIPUB News India Foundation, which represents nearly 100 independent outlets, including The Wire, Scroll, Quint, and Newslaundry. She received the “Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Journalist” (2022), the “Red Ink ‘Journalist of the Year’ Award” (2023), and was nominated for the “RSF (Reporters Without Borders) Impact Award” (2025) for her work defending press freedom and accountability journalism. The Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) recognised her investigation into India’s electoral bonds as among the best investigative stories from India. The News Minute was also the first to uncover the voter roll manipulation scam.
